Different speakers, good music enjoyed at Phillips Mill revival

Revival services at Phillips Mill Baptist Church were well attended. It was good to have different speakers and good music with different specials each night.

Sunday night, the pastor, Rev. Robert Rayner, was the speaker with two Phillips Mill ladies singing solos. They were Norma Davidson and Sara Long; and at the close of the service Dawn Howard was welcomed as a new member.

Monday night we were happy to have Rev. Dan Rosser, pastor of the Lincolnton Baptist Church, as speaker. Music was by Rev. Steve Rayner, pastor of Rehoboth Baptist Church in the Metasville community, and son of Phillips Mill's pastor and his wife Nancy.

Tuesday night we were happy to have another speaker from Lincoln County, Rev. Russell Davis, pastor of New Work Baptist Church on Double Branches Road. New Work church is a member of the Augusta Association which joins the Georgia Baptist Association in that area. Music was by Rev. Skip Padgett, pastor of Robinson Baptist Church between Crawfordville and Union Point.

It was nice to have a group of people from Second Baptist Church of Thomson with us that night. This is the church where Rev. Davis grew up. They included Charlotte

Waller's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clemon Thigpen, and Annie and James Callaway.

The Wednesday night speaker was Rev. Steve Rayner. We felt honored to have the church choir from Rehoboth Baptist to come sing. They can really sing (Just about as good as Phillips Mill's choir. Ha!).

Thanks to Bes Moore and Flora Swann who played the piano and Faye McAvoy for playing the organ for all the services. Thanks also to all who made a special effort to attend and take part.

The sandwich meal together in the fellowship hall after the Wednesday night service went over nicely. I got several hugs that made me smile. You never know who is watching you.

We were happy to have Rev. Skip Padgett to join us on Sunday for our homecoming meal, after preaching at Robinson.

Among others left out of the homecoming write-up were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stevens, parents of Tesi Standard, Ann Hester Wideman and her husband George. Again, it was nice to have all who attended homecoming and revival services.

Let us all rejoice and remember: "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24.
