Loud noise is unwanted, unhealthy TO THE EDITOR: The attorney defending Nathaniel Cullars needs to read the current national news as well as the information published by the United States Department of Justice. Cars that are stopped for noise violations are often found to contain illegal drugs and weapons. The drivers are frequently found not to have proper license and/or insurance, or to be violating parole. It appears that in about 20% of the cars stopped for noise, some other violation is found. Cullars may or may not be guilty. He deserves his day in court. But don't excuse loud noise as not being criminal activity, since it is illegal in most jurisdictions in the US. It is not only illegal, but it is unwanted, unnecessary, and most of all, unhealthy. Innocent citizens deserve protection from the noise, irrespective of whatever other crimes the drivers of noisy vehicles may or may not be committing.
