Where in the world is the cold front that was supposed to come through? We had a few degrees fall in the temperature, but I did not feel a bit different. I am so glad that we did get some rain and I'm looking forward to cooler weather, much cooler. I know all of you are, too. The Rayle community was saddened as they learned of the death of Bob Mays Friday. Bob was owner and operator of Bob's DriveIn for many years and made many friends in Wilkes County and with people who were just passing through. He was a good man with a friendly smile for everyone. He was in a nursing home in the Atlanta area at the time of his death. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family. He is survived by two daughters and a son. The Armour family chicken houses were damaged when lightning ran in on the generator that they were running on. Many chickens were lost and they've been busy trying to get their operation going again. They appreciate all the help from people who have helped in any way.
