I hope all enjoyed a good week. Our news from Aonia this week is a little slim. Aonia did not get much rain this week. I heard that it rained 2 to 3 inches in areas like Washington, Metasville, and Lincoln County got some in areas. So, I'm hoping for some rain. The group that went to Riverbank Zoo (about 27 people) Saturday reported a great time. They all had supper at Old McDonald's Fish Camp near North Augusta. The ones from our community were Mrs. Bobby Myers, Jeannie Bruce, Jennifer Bruce, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mobley Jr., Austin, Tyler, and Summer. I went to doctors in Augusta, and went to visit my friends, Richard and Judy Sleister in Columbia County. I also visited Mr. and Mrs. Sanders Dallis in Lincoln County during the week. On Sunday, G.B. and I joined our children, Shane Gaines, Tanner and Trace of Winterville, Shannon Thomason and Taylor, and Wes Butler of Wilkes County, Trace's friend, Will, of Jackson County, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Goff of McCormick, and Garnett Wallace for dinner at the home of my parents, Henry and Blanche Wallace in Lincoln County. My dad is not doing well and he would appreciate prayers. Cassie Goldman of Washington was honored with at shower at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Saturday. Guests from my community were Mrs. Lucille Ingram, Lona Chesnut, Trudy Ingram, Sherry Newsome, Sharon Ingram, Linda Standard, Sara Huff, Connie and Misty Johnson of Lincoln County, Mrs. Louise Burt, Mrs. Helen Miller of Washington. Burt Newsome attended job related school in Columbia, Mississippi, during the weekend. Shelly Mann of Monroe, N.C., who is an aunt of Chip and Skyla Haynes, needs our prayers. She is awaiting a liver transplant. She is about 30 years old. Stephanie and Chip Haynes have been on the sick list again. Get well soon. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Peek of Vero Beach, Fla., have returned home after visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Jenelle Newsome. They visited her brother, Jamie, Charlene and Anna in Martinez several times while here. The Jamie Newsomes were guests of Mrs. Jenelle Newsome one evening last week. I attended the Reese family singing at First Assembly of God Church Saturday evening in Lincolnton. I saw several of my classmates and others I had not seen lately. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bentley also attended. Our sick and prayer concerns include James Callaway, Margie F. Hopkins, Henry N. Wallace, JoAnn Bryant, Tim and Brittany Brown, Mrs. Martha Drinkard, Shelly Mann, Shirley and Gary Haynie, George Wideman, Ed Burdette, Linda Albea, Lynn Gay, Evans Davis, Juanita Bradford, Trudy Sutherland, JoAnn Barden, Charles Bradford, Carolyn Barnett, Michael Barnett, Mary Lou Barnett, Mary Dunford, Linda and Gordon Collier, Bennie and Rita Thurmond, Mary Ruff, Jenelle Newsome, Ethel Harris, Dot Shank, Lois South, Lyn Brim, and Mrs. Lucy McCorkle.
