Donald Curtis Nelms

Funeral services for Donald Curtis Nelms, 73, of Tignall were held Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Callaway and Rev. Johnny Clark officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died August 24 in Elbert Memorial Hospital, Elberton.

Mr. Nelms was a native of Clayton County and lived in Lincoln County for 14 years. He was the son of Grady Nelms and Cora Evans Nelms. He served in the United States Army and was a retired pressman. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Nelms; a daughter, Donna McDaniel, Covington; two brothers, Tom Nelms, Griffin, and James Nelms, Hartwell; a sister, Eva Hogeland, Jonesboro; and six grandchildren, Kaleb McDaniel, Amanda McDaniel, Alicia McDaniel, Erin Fowler, and Jacob and Nadia McDaniel.

His grandson, Kaleb McDaniel, and the deacons of Beulah Baptist Church served as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
