Robert T. McCarty

Graveside services for Robert T. "Bobby" McCarty, 69, of Washington were held Monday, August 28, 2006, in Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Randy Hardy officiating. He died Saturday, August 26, at his home.

Mr. McCarty was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Patrick Henry and Alice Ray McCarty. He was retired from International Paper Co. and was one of the proprietors of H&M Pecan Company.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Cook McCarty of Washington; three sons, Robert "Rudy" McCarty, Andy McCarty, and David McCarty

and his wife Cindy, of Washington; two daughters, Angela McGill and her husband Peyton, and Kimberly M. Simpson, of Washington; seven grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren, all of Washington.

Pallbearers included Ricky McCarty, Randy McCarty, Butch Goldman, Crayton Young, David Lindsey, and Charlie Broome.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bill McCarty Scholarship Fund, c/o Kim Winfrey, 413 E. Robert Toombs Ave., Washington, Ga. 30673.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
