Ladies lose to Aquinas, host Thomson today

The Washington-Wilkes Lady Tiger softball team traveled to Aquinas on Tuesday, August 29, and lost a close game by a score of 6-5.

The Tigers battled back going down 2-0 after the first inning to tie the game at 2-2 with a 2-rbi single by Lindsey Guin. After switching the lead back and forth the game was tied at 5-5 in the seventh inning.

The Tigers were unable to put a run on the scoreboard and Aquinas won the game in the bottom of the seventh off a grounball fielder's choice.

Next, the Tigers host Thomson today, August 31, for a 4:30 p.m. doubleheader. Region play begins next Tuesday as the Oglethorpe Patriots visit W-W at Ashley Park beginning at 4:30 p.m.
