Fall Cruise-In to be held Saturday on The Square

The annual Fall Cruise-In on The Square in Downtown Washington will be held Saturday, September 9, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Cruise-In is sponsored by the Memory Lane Cruisers and the City of Washington and attracts vehicles from a wide area, especially in the CSRA. There will be cars, trucks, hotrods, tractors, motorcycles, and other vehicles.

There is no charge to visit The Square and see the vehicles. Each car participating in the Cruise-In will be charged $5 and dash plaques will be given to the first 100 entries.

Local merchants have donated many door prizes for the event and anyone can purchase a chance for $1. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and ice cream will be sold on The Square by the club.

Profits from the Cruise-Ins are used by the club to make donations to various causes in the county. Last year's donations went to the Wilkes County First Responders,Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter, Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Mary Willis Library, and the Nancy C. Long Walk of Hope.
