Serving food safely is topic of church workshop Sept. 23

Whether you help prepare food for large crowds or your own family, you have a responsibility to serve safely. The Washington First United Methodist Church will be hosting a "Serve Food Safely" Workshop on Saturday, September 23, from 8 a.m. to noon in the church fellowship hall. All persons who cook regularly for church dinners, large gatherings, fund-raiser meals, concession stands, or other functions would benefit from this class.

Janie Cravens, an instructor for the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation, will teach the workshop.

The $10 registration fee will cover all materials, refreshments, and will be donated entirely to the First United Methodist Church New Fellowship Hall Building Fund. Call 706-678-7116 or 76-678-7434 to register by September 19.

The community is invited to attend.
