Adult Bible Searchers class enjoys picnic at Pope home Aug. 29 The Adult Bible Searchers Sunday School class of the First Baptist Church gathered at the home of Edward and Susan Pope on Spring Street Tuesday evening, August 29, for a picnic and fellowship. Inclement weather brought the gathering indoors where an outdoor theme was used in decorating. Colorful cloths, candles and decorative goblets filled with zinnias, lantana, liriope, spider lilies and black-eyed Susans were used on the tables in the dining and living rooms. Class members brought favorites to complement the menu of grilled hamburgers with all the trimmings. An assortment of decadent desserts and coffee completed the meal. Jeff Franklin, class teacher, offered the blessing before dinner. After dinner, Mr. Franklin, stewardship chairman, conducted a workshop for all members who are serving as a part of the stewardship committee.
Attending with the hosts were Bill and Teresa Bishop, Jeff and Lisa Franklin, Pug and Kay Nelms, Dean Mansfield, Priscilla Moore, Gene and Lynne Land, Lloyd and Bobbie Johnson, Jim and Shelby Caddell and Tom and Melanie Wells.
