Alaina C. B. Lagroon magna cum laude at College of Charleston Alaina Corley Berner Lagroon, a Theatre Performance and Arts Management major, has graduated magna cum laude from the College of Charleston, S.C. Alaina is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lagroon of Anderson, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Lagroon of McCormick, S.C., and Mildred Berner and the late Jack Berner of Atlanta. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.A. (Bill) Bailey of Wilkes County and the late Mr. and Mrs. Olin Edward Lagroon. She is the namaesake of the late Eloise Corley Jay. Alaina was named an outstanding student and received departmental honors in both theatre and arts management. She also received the Faculty Award of Merit in Theatre for the second consecutive year.
The student has been awarded a Dean's Tuition Scholarship to attend graduate school at Vanderbilt University in the fall.
