The opening weekend of college football has passed, but the excitement has not subsided. This week's slate contains some very important early season games for Southern elevens. Let's take a look. Auburn over Mississippi State by 30 - If the Dogs don't find some

offense, it's going to be a very long year.

LSU over Arizona by 13 - The Wildcats are a pretty good team.

The Tigers are a very good team.

Alabama over Vandy by 14 - Vandy may be a little better than

expected.

Tennessee over Air Force by 21 - The Vols have served notice that

they are back among the South's elite.

Georgia over South Carolina by l3 - The Old Ball Coach doesn't

have enough magic to win this one.

Florida over UCF by 15 - The Gators are rolling, but the Knights

won't give up wfthout a fight.

Virginia Tech over North Carolina by 17 - Looks like a long year

for the Tar Heels!

Georgia Tech over Sanford by 28 - Even wilh a Notre Dame hangover,

the Jackets should cruise.

Wake Forest over Duke by 20 - Duke must be horrible. Wake is

solid!

Clemson over Boston College by 6 - Tommy's banged up Tigers

win their ACC opener.

N.C. State over Akron by 10 - The Wolfpack looks weaker than

last year, but the Zips don't appear to be on their level.

UAB over East Carolina by 6 - Watson Brown's Blazers lost a

heart breaker to Oklahoma last week. They should bounce back against an improved East Carolina squad.
