Mr. Rousey presents a treasure
Alvin Rousey of Tignall (l) presented Washington pharmacist Joey Fievet with a very special old 4-ounce glass prescription bottle that may date back as far as 1922. On the bottle is the inscription "J.B. Green Drug Store for Reliable Prescriptions Phone 60 Washington, Ga." John B. Green owned what became Fievet's Pharmacy from 1922 until 1948, Fievet said, in the building that now houses Petal Pushers Christmas Shop. The pharmacy, which dates back to 1896, moved to its present location in 1988. "Mr. Rousey found this bottle many years ago and had it displayed on a shelf in his home," Fievet said, "until he made a gift of it earlier this week. It's really a treasure."
