RAYLE NEWS
By Bonnie Boatwright Call 274-3264

The popular singing group "Forgiven" of Indiana will give a concert at Sardis Baptist Church Sunday evening, October 1, at 7 p.m. You may have heard them before because they have sung with the Gaithers, Weatherfords, Jerry and the Singing Goffs, Hovie Lister, and the Statesman Quartet. The concert is free and Rev. John Mark Carpenter and members of Sardis invite you to come. The Rayle Ramble will be October 14 starting at 10 a.m. and it is going to be bigger and better than ever. There will be carnival rides, activities for children, rafts, singers throughout the day, country store, food vendors, bingo, antique cars and tractors, and many other things for your enjoyment. Tickets for barbecued chicken plates are already being sold. Come on out and bring your lawn chairs and spend the day and visit with many people. I have enjoyed the cool nights and know all of you have also. I'm like Betty Berry. I'm ready for a frost. Sorry I missed Sybil Vaughn Thursday afternoon when I went to visit. She was not at home so I just sat on her pretty little porch in one of her rocking chairs and rocked away enjoying her pretty yard and visited her in absentee for about 45 minutes. Our prayers are for Sybil Vaughn who spent Thursday at the hospital in Athens as an outpatient where she was given two pints of blood. Our prayers continue for Dorothy Callaway who came home from MCG in Augusta Friday and is still under very close care. Her family is giving her tender, loving care. She has had a bunch of visitors. Faye Johnson from Gray is spending some time with them. Congratulations and best wishes to Nancy Bryan and Seth Thornton of Union Point who were married on September 1 at Fairhavens in Arnoldsville. A lovely reception was held Sunday in the fellowship hall of the Lexington Baptist Church. Nancy is the daughter of Gordon (Sonny) Bryan and Linda McCree Bryan of Philomath, the granddaughter of the late Pittman and Mary Callaway McCree. They will make their home in Rayle on Hwy. 78 in the Pittman McCree house. Mrs. Gloria Hardy and Mrs. Bonnie Boatwright attended the reception Sunday afternoon at the
