Many have fond memories of the Swann family. Of course, a lot of friends who grew up with them in our area have also passed away.

I personally have many fond memories of the Swann family. My parents, the late Emmette Lyle "Em.L" and Martha Jane "Mattie" Sherrer Johnson, were close friends as they grew up together and remained friends. The Swann place was off of Hwy. 22 going to Crawfordville, not far from where Hwy. 44 and Hwy 22 crossing is now. I remember as a child walking with family members through the woods by the Swann place which was about halfway before you got to the late George and Eva Tucker Nunn's home. Mrs. Nunn ran a store in the hallway of their home. We would rest a while and go on to Carter's Grove to see my Sherrer grandparents, William Hill and Mary Lou "Mamie" Nash Sherrer. And of course stop back by on our way home.

The families kept I touch over the years with each other. When I was in high school I remember Irvin Swann's mother, Nora Mathis (Mrs. Marvin) Swann, walking through the woods to help me with cows several times when my daddy would get sick in the wintertime, before I went to school.

That's love, friends. All the Swanns I know today are nice thoughtful people.
