Volunteers needed for festival, North Wilkes committee says

Gloria Ware (right), chairman of the North Wilkes Steering Committee, helps Margaret Fortson display the rug she made which will be raffled at the fall festival.
The North Wilkes Steering Committee met Thursday, September 7, at the Tignall Lunchroom. Those attending were Pat Grimaud, Jessie Shoemaker, Margie Bunch, Susannah Carter, Margaret Fortson, Gloria Ware, Eudora Huyck, Nobie Keener, Celeste Adams, and Carolyn Gammon.

Plans for the upcoming I'd Rather Be In Tignall Fall Festival are falling in place. The committee is desperately in need of volunteers for the day of the festival. There are only a few members on the committee and they can't do it all.

They have some faithful ones to help out each year, but they need more. If you can just help out for a half a day, that would be a big help. Just let one of the members of the committee know that they can call on you.

Margaret Fortson has donated a latch-hook rug to be raffled on the day of the fall festival. This beautiful rug is handmade by Margaret.

Tickets will be sold by the committee. There will also be chances sold for a beautiful quilt made by the Homemakers Club. A picture of the quilt will appear in the paper later.
