Joe L. Norman Funeral services for Joe L. Norman, 68, were held Saturday, September 9, 2006, at the Springfield Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. Norman Williams and Rev. G.L. Avery officiating. Burial was in City West Cemetery, Washington. He died Wednesday, September 6. Mr. Norman was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Mary and Will Norman. He was a member of Booker's Chapel Baptist Church and sang in several choirs and with a male chorus.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Norman; a son, Kelvin Norman; a granddaughter, Kristyn Norman; and five sisters, Emmie L. Evans and Carrie M. Murphy, Washington, Ida M. Murphy, Rayle, Susie Norman and Rebecca Jones, Chicago, Ill.
