Claudia Leslie Smith Dr. Robert Lafayette Whipple IV

Mr. and Mrs. George Robert Smith of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Claudia Leslie, to Dr. Robert Lafayette Whipple IV, son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert L. Whipple III of Newnan.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hood of Cleveland and the late Dr. and Mrs. Clyde L. Smith of Washington.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from North Georgia College in Dahlonega and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw. Miss Smith is a registered nurse at the PAPP Clinic in Newnan.

Dr. Whipple is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Justin LeBlanc of Chauvin, La., and the late Dr. Robert L. Whipple Jr. and Mrs. Aileen Talley of Atlanta.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University in Atlanta and a Doctor of Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Dr. Whipple is a pediatrician at the PAPP Clinic in Newnan.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, November 11, at 4 p.m. at Lake Toxaway United Methodist Church in Lake Toxaway, N. C.
