Derrick Fountain is welcomed as the Woman's Club guest speaker by program chairman, Dean Mansfield (left) and Vivian Walker, president.
Derrick Fountain of The Fountain Salon and Spa was guest speaker at the Woman's Club meeting Monday, September 11, at the clubhouse.

Introduced by Dean Mansfield, program chairman, Mr. Fountain told about The Fountain Salon and Spa at 21 West Robert Toombs Avenue. He noted the spa specializes in massages, facials, body wraps, exfoliating treaments, manicures, pedicures, hair and tanning services. Donna Hardy assisted him in showing massage procedures.

Prior to his program, Vivian Walker, president, welcomed returning members as well as many new members who include Janie Cravens, Rose Ware, Cherie Holt, Paula Butts, Amy Johnston, Alma Ferrell, Ashley Turner, Susan Pope, Alice Lindsey, Sharon Williamson, and Janice Scott.

Bunny Gunby, chaplain, offered a short devotional remembering 911 victims and their families. She then offered the blessing for the luncheon.

Hostesses, Vivian Walker, Rose Ware and Jean Steed, decorated using the theme "Hats Off to the Woman's Club." Hats and hatboxes were used both inside and out. A red hat hung on the door and was flanked by other hats decoratively arranged on hatboxes. Inside white cloths covered the tables, each centered with a festive hat. Hats flanked bowls of zinnias on each mantel.

Mrs. Gunby spoke very briefly on the history of the Woman's Club that began in Washington in the early 1900s.

Following other business, the meeting adjourned.
