Cross-Country Tigers run in Jackson's six-way meet

The W-WCHS Tiger Cross-Country team traveled to Jackson County on Thursday, September 7, for a sixway meet that included Jackson County, Buford, Gainesville, Morgan County, and Madison County.

In the boys' varsity race Taylor Echols finished second out of 50 runners. He ran a time of 19:32 on the 3.1-mile course. Other Tigers contributing to the team score were James Cade finishing 10th at 20:23, Tyson Gilland who was 12th at 20:33, John Lovvorn who was 13th at 20:35, and Evan Harrison who was 21st at 20:56. The team score of 58 placed the Tigers second in the team competition behind Buford who had a team score or 47. Other schools and their placement scores

were: Morgan Co. 81, Jackson Co. 93, Madison Co. 95, and Gainesville 131. Also running for the Tigers were Jacob Davis at 20:59, Ryen Scarboro at 22:06, Brantley Stevens at 22:13, Jesse Crago at 22:27, and Josh Cosby at 25:47.

The girls' race featured 32 runners with the Tigers' Ricola Patterson finishing 6th with a time of 24:15. Also running for the Tigers was Shaquana Spence.

The Tigers' next meet was held Monday, September 11, at Cateechee Golf Course in Hart County but results were not made available by press time.

Next, the Tigers will travel to Oglethorpe County on Saturday, September 23, for a 9 a.m. meet.
