Kick that bad habit with a FreshStart; classes start Oct. 4

Ready to stop smoking but need a little help to kick the habit? Try a FreshStart.

The American Cancer Society announced that it will offer four weeks of FreshStart classes in Wilkes County beginning Wednesday, October 4.

The one-hour classes will be held weekly from 6-7 p.m. at Wills Memorial Hospital, 120 Gordon Street on October 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Teresa Stockwell will be the facilitator for the classes.

The American Cancer Society's FreshStart program provides a trained volunteer to help smokers to kick the tobacco habit. The program is designed to help smoker stop smoking in four weeks.

"FreshStart is an excellent way for people who want to quit smoking to learn how to modify their behavior and give up tobacco products for good," said Summer Garrison, a Society community manager in Augusta.

For further information on the classes or to sign up to participate, call Wills Memorial Hospital at 706678-9212.
