FBLA members remember September 11

FBLA members at W-WCHS used red, white, and blue cups to express their feelings of patriotism on the fifth anniversary of the September 11, 2005 terrorist attack.
The Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) participated in a patriotism project during club day on September 12.

To remember the heroes and to honor those who lost their lives September 11, 2001, FBLA members decorated the fence in front of the school. Red, white, and blue cups were used to spell out "We Love the USA."

The patriotism project was developed to enhance the FBLA goal of developing character, and preparing for useful citizenship, and to foster patriotism, as well as to honor those remembered during the fifth year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11.

Washington-Wilkes FBLA members participating in the activity were Angel Acree, Trista Adams, Brittany Anderson, Shaniqua Banks, Rolesiea Booker, James Cade, Alexis Cantey, Melacia Cullars, Brittney Davis, Jessica Echols, Nicollete Fanning, Tyson Gilland, Evan Harrison, Lavarius Jones, Quandarius Lewis, John Lovvorn, Ashley Moore, Blake Rogers, and Keyonna Wynn. The primary FBLA adviser is Amy Harkins. Tanya Morgan is also an adviser.

The patriotism project was developed to enhance the FBLA goal of developing character, and preparing for useful citizenship, and to foster patriotism, as well as to honor those who died.
FBLA members will be participating in many worthwhile activities during the 2006-2007 school year, including conferences, leadership activities, competitions, community service projects, fundraisers, and business meetings.

The first conference will be on Monday, September 25, in Macon. The participating members will be attending the Georgia FBLA Fall Rally and State Fair. They will take part in leadership sessions, a motivational rally, time at the Georgia State Fair, and competitions with other FBLA members from around the state.

The Georgia FBLA is a non-profit student organization committed to preparing today's students for success in business leadership. With more than 50 years of experience, Georgia FBLA is the premiere organization for student leaders.

The Georgia FBLA theme for 2006-2007 is "Georgia FBLA: Launching You Into Tomorrow."
