'Kids Klub' is fun ministry reaching out to local youth

Youngsters have fun during Kids Klub at Smyrna UMC the first Sunday of each month.
Smyrna United Methodist Church is once again hosting its monthly Kidz Klub on the first Sunday of every month. Woodi Strother and Reba Brown lead "this incredibly fun and exciting time of children's worship," reports Rev. Craig Yoshihara. "They have created a Biblically-based curriculum which exposes children to the Bible in creative and innovative ways," he said.

During the first session, the children danced, sang songs, made their own hats, and ate cupcakes while learning about the book of Genesis. Ann Garrard spent a lot of time helping Strother and Brown make sure that the children all had fun.

"Children are incredibly important to our churches. We strive evmobile

ery week to bring the word of God to them, because we want them to learn about God and His love for us all," said Rev. Yoshihara of the Little River Churches. "At our worship services, we always have a children's message tailored to our youth, and what Reba and Woodi have done expands on that effort and let's the children learn even more about God."

Kidz Klub is open to all children of the Washington community. Kidz Klub begins every first Sunday at 2 p.m. at Smyrna United Methodist Church, located at 100 S. Smyrna Church Rd. off the Lincolnton highway. Worship services at Smyrna UMC are every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and all services include a children's message.
