Rayle Ramble expecting record number vendors

The Rayle Ramble committee met Thursday, September 7, with 12 members present and shared updates on the activity planning in the works.

Chairman Jason Echols has heard from three additional vendors, bringing the expected total to 20 which is a new record for the Ramble now in its sixth year. One of the vendors will have several inflatable activities and games for children of all ages. Included will be a large moonwalk, a double slide 30 ft. high, a football toss, and more.

The donation of prizes for bingo is going well. "This is always one of the highlights of the Ramble, thanks to the wonderful support of the Wilkes County business owners and citizens," Chairman Echols said.

Debbie Anderson announced some exciting entertainment. Local talented young people performing will include Casey Davis, Brittany Klaus, Richard Tench, The Lighthouse Gospel Singers, Bill Maxwell, and Terri Gibbs. Square dancers and cloggers have not yet been confirmed, nor has a country band.

Tickets for the barbecue are available for $6.00 each and may be obtained from any of the committee members or by calling Echols at 706-274-3350. The plates can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

One lucky ticket holder will receive one night free at the Fitzpatrick Hotel in Downtown Washington. You do not have to be present to win.
