Carolyn Smith Wallace

Funeral services for Carolyn Smith Wallace, 48, were held Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Reeves Chapel Baptist Church, Tignall, with Rev. M.W. Gresham officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died September 11 in Augusta at the Medical College of Georgia.

Mrs. Wallace was the daughter of Benson Smith of Ann Arbor, Mich., and the late Ruby Mae Smith of Washington. She was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Wallace of Washington; three children, Danielle Turner, Tiffany Turner, and Latoya Turner of

Washington; a brother, Darren Smith, Washington; three sisters, Dianne Andrews, Lincolnton, Margaret Welborn, Rayle, and Deborah Smith, Washington; her grandmother, Voila Johnson of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and seven grandchildren, Darius Turner, Montell Walton, Alaishya Turner, Quindarius Smith, Amaya Gresham, Lata Via Jernigan, and Ashawna Gresham.

Members of the WashingtonWilkes Comprehensive High School Class of 1976 served as pallbearers.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
