Bennie Joey Wheatley

Funeral services for Bennie Joey Wheatley, 48, of Thomson will be held Thursday, September 21, 2006, at 3 p.m., in Rehoboth Baptist Church, Metasville, with Rev. Steve Rayner and Rev. Landrum H. Fowler officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. He died September 18 at his home.

Mr. Wheatley was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Lee and Miriam Rogers Wheatley. He had been a bulldozer operator for Knox-Rivers Construction Company.

Survivors include a brother, Tommy Wheatley; and a brother-inlaw and his wife, William and Ann Land, Dearing.

Pallbearers will include Gary Anderson, Steve Burnley, Summie Richards, Mike Griffith, Kyle Bearse, and Christopher Washington.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
