Lunch and Learn set for Sept. 28 Dr. D. Scott Lind will be the featured speaker at the Wills Memorial Hospital Lunch and Learn Thursday, September 28, at 12 noon at the hospital library. Dr. Lind, Professor and Chief of Surgical Oncology within the Department of Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia, will speak on breast cancer surgical procedures. He is a fellowship trained oncology surgeon with clinical and academic interests in melanoma, breast cancer and sarcoma. Dr. Lind grew up in Rochester, Minn., and graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in l984. His internship in General Surgery was served at the University of Texas in San Antonio in l989. He then traveled back to the Medical College of Virginia to serve his Fellowship in l992. Dr. Lind began his practice at the Medical College of Georgia in March 2002. He is a part of a collaborative effort involving the Medical College of Georgia and the University of Florida to develop and evaluate virtual patients as educational tools for teaching and testing communicative skills. Dr. Lind resides in Augusta with his wife, the former Barbara Kaplan. They have three children, Jason, Joanna and Jenny.
