Beta Club sponsoring fund-raiser for Nancy C. Long Cancer Walk
By W-WMS SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADERS

This week at Washington-Wilkes Middle School many exciting events have occurred. For instance, Marine Sgt. Palmer from Thomson visited Gloria Rhodes' career connections class. Sgt. Palmer said that "everybody's equal, and they all have a sense of pride and belonging." He also stressed the importance of the "Buddy System." Students showered Sgt. Palmer with questions which he answered before he left. They were amazed to learn that his day begins at 3:30 a.m. and that even getting dressed has to be synchronized. Thank you Sgt. Palmer for visiting W-WMS!
