Celebrity Waiters Dinner will be held October 10 at W-WCHS The Celebrity Waiters Dinner sponsored by the Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary to benefit Wills Memorial Hospital will be held on Tuesday, October 10. The dinner will be held at the Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Cafeteria, and will feature entertainment by Elizabeth Long and Friends with a special guest appearance by Little Roy Lewis. Tickets for the evening are $17.00 each and are available at Bee Southern, Tena's Gifts and Jewelry, and Den of Antiquities. They can also be purchased by calling 706-678- 7259 or 706-678-9272. Many Washington-Wilkes "celebrities" from the business and professional segment of the county will serve as waiters for the evening and will be vying for the prize for the waiter who collects the most tips from his/her table. Remember to take your money for tips so that you can get that extra cup of coffee, or some other special treatment by your waiter. Elizabeth Long is a native of Lincolnton and is now living in Nashville, Tennessee. In early 2006 she released her fourth CD project, and is a multi-talented musician and singer. She has appeared at the Fox Theater in Atlanta; on WSM's Midnight Jamboree; the West Virginia State Capital; and in many bluegrass festivals throughout the country. Little Roy Lewis is a member of the famous Lewis family from Lincolnton which has won numerous awards through the years. The most recent award is the Dove Award for the group's last three CDs. Little Roy has been awarded entertainer of the year many times at the blue grass music awards.
All proceeds go to the WMH Auxiliary's many projects.
