Homemakers find state flower quilt already assembled

When the Tignall Homemakers met on September 21 they were delighted to find that this year's quilt featuring state flowers was already in place on the frame. Sally Kennedy had stitched together the squares embroidered by a number of members and Pat Mack, Becky Dixon, Mary Webster, and Kitten Fain had stretched the various layers onto the quilting frame.

After the vice-president, Pat Mack, had conducted a short business meeting, the quilters went to work while Celeste Adams and friends sorted photos and other items for the club's scrapbook.

The quilt is sure to be as beautiful as last year's which featured state birds, and will no doubt be as big an attraction at Tignall's Fall Festival where it will be raffled. Raffle tickets in bundles of six for $5 may be obtained from members or at Tignall's Kum Bak Café.

Pat Mack, Mary Webster, and Edna Rhodes served the tasty refreshments for this meeting.
