David T. Kirk, M.D. is vital part of Wills Memorial Hospital staff

DR. DAVID T. KIRK
David T. Kirk, M.D., is the second in The News-Reporter's profiles of Wilkes County's practicing physicians.

Dr. Kirk is vice chief of staff at Wills Memorial Hospital and recently marked his 20th year of practice in Washington-Wilkes.

He is a native of Charleston, West Virginia, and came to Washington- Wilkes in June 1986 where he was in group practice with Dr. Gene Pollock and Dr. Ed Pollock before establishing his own solo family practice in October 1987.

Dr. Kirk is Board certified in family practice and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Associates of Family Practice, and Southern Medical Association.

Before coming to Georgia he was licensed to practice medicine in West Virginia and New Jersey. He was licensed in Georgia in June 1986.

He earned a Bachelor Science in Biology from Marshall University, Huntington, West Va., in 1978; did graduate studies in biology at Marshall University, Huntington, West Va., 1978-79; and from 1979 until 1983 he was enrolled at the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Va. He did his residency training at Hunterdon Medical Center, West Va., 1983-86.

He served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973.

"Dr. Kirk is well-liked and respected by the staff of Wills Memorial Hospital, and is a vital part of this institution," said Wills Memorial Hospital CEO Marvin Goldman.

The doctor is married to Roslind Kirk and enjoys golf, reading, and watching sporting events.
