Adrienne DeeVanda Campbell marries Bryant Laserick James
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Patsy Campbell of Washington. The bridegroom is the son of Willie James and Dorothy Kennedy of Washington. The altar was centered with an arch embellished with tulle, Burgundy and white roses and greenery and flanked by pedestals holding arrangements of ivy, calla lilies, and Burgundy hydrangeas. Matching floor arrangements were to the outside of each pedestal arrangement. Railings were draped in white tulle. The brass candelabra and the unity candle featured white bows. Pews were draped in white tulle and the family and honored guests' pews held additional tulle bows. Roses topped the pews. Candles were lit by Fredrick Porter and Demetrice Porter of Washington. Steve Adams, pianist and soloist, and Demario Gresham, percussionist, both of Washington, presented the wedding music. Vocalists were Kasha Wingfield of Lexington, Tiaretta Leverette of Lincolnton and Melisse Blackmon of Washington. The ceremony began with a celebration dance performed by Emanuel Christian Academy of Washington dancers, Shanetra Walton, Erin Turman, Jemi Davis, Elijah Campbell and Darius Jackson of Washington. Samuel Heath and Larry Alexander of Crawfordville served as best men. Usher-groomsmen were Michael Elam of Washington, Bobby Campbell Jr. of Alpharetta, William Keith Moore of Athens, Derrick Tutt of Chicago, Ill., and Keedric Cofer of Atlanta. Sisters of the bride, Freda Campbell of New York and Cassandra Campbell of Washington, served as maids of honor. Each wore a floorlength black strapless mermaid dress in matte satin fashioned with a dropped waist bodice accented at the top and bottom with beaded appliqués and carried a large bouquet of Burgundy and pink long stem calla lilies. Bridesmaids were Sherita Campbell, Toi Jackson, Tashike Jennings and Tonya Marshall of Washington and Denise Randall of Athens. Their gowns matched those of the honor attendants. Each attendant carried two long stemmed pink calla lilies. Alexis Walton and Jasmine Kennedy of Washington were junior bridesmaids. Their black floorlength mermaid dresses were designed with spaghetti strap bodices. Their flowers were single calla lilies. Flower girls, Quameilya Smith and Kaitlyn Porter of Washington, wore dresses with satin bodices adorned with beaded and sequined lace appliqués and tulle skirts completed with back waist rosettes. They carried white baskets filled with pink, white and Burgundy rose petals. William Keith Moore II of Washington was ring bearer. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in her diamond white gown from the Mary's Bridal Couture D'amore Collection. The classic antique satin portrait neck bodice featured crystals and clear beading and long illusion trumpet sleeves. The full skirt ended in a cathedral train. Alencon lace edged the hemline of the gown and train. Her elbow-length satin trimmed veil fell from a crystal tiara. She carried a bouquet of white glass hydrangeas adorned with large pink and white flowing bows. The bride's mother chose a creamcolored floor-length dress with a soft floor-length train. The dress bodice and jacket were adorned with beaded floral appliqués. Her corsage was pink and Burgundy roses and berries. The bridegroom's mother wore a mauve cachet beaded iridescent shantung dress and jacket embellished with delicate embroidery and beading. Her corsage was of mauve and pink callas. Reception Following the ceremony the bride's parents entertained at a reception at the Edward B. Pope Center. Hostesses were Stephanie Martin, Yoshe Jenkins and Cynthia Walton of Washington. Akeiba Ferrell and Dauri Binns of Washington tended the guest register. The bride's table, overlaid in white, held the wedding cake atop a round silver plateau. The four stacked layers were iced in white and decorated with Burgundy and pink flowers. Pink rose petals were scattered about the table and other accents were black, Burgundy and pink wheat grass. Also on the table were silver toasting goblets. The bridegroom's cake centered a table covered in white and accented with a black overlay. The stacked square confection, iced in white, was decorated with fresh strawberries and placed atop a square silver plateau. Votives and hurricanes also decorated the table. Ruby Gomillion of Augusta made and served the cakes. The long table for the couple and their wedding party was covered in white and decorated with springeri fern, votives and hurricanes. A lavish arrangement of callas and roses cascaded down the front of the table Round guest tables, also covered in white, featured black Eifel Tower vases on mirror tiles accented with votives. Flowing from the vases were beautiful callas, roses, gerbera daisies and greenery. Guests enjoyed a buffet of heavy hors d'oeurves. Dorothy Jordan and Silas Gresham of Washington decorated for the reception.
Following a wedding trip to Key Largo, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. James are making their home in Washington.
