American Legion Post 194, Lincolnton, will present the Coastline Band with Jim Quick for a dance on Saturday, October 14, 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. The band has been named the Carolina Beach Music Entertainer of the year five times and is also winner of the 2005 Blues Single of the Year and National Shag Song, "Sweet Mama Do Right." The Washington Presbyterian Church will have its annual Fall Special Services October 15-17. The Sunday evening service on October 15 will begin with a covered dish supper at 6 p.m., and the worship service at 7 p.m. Services on October 16 and 17 will begin at 7 p.m.

Tabor Baptist Church will have revival services October 22-25, 7 p.m. Sunday morning services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Homecoming will be Sunday, October 22, 10:30 a.m.

There will be a County Cooking Supper at Fishing Creek Baptist Church Saturday, October 21, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. All you can eat for $6.00 per plate. All proceeds go to charity.

The October meeting of the Civil War Round Table of Washington will be Monday, October 23, 6 p.m., in the Fitzpatrick Hotel Restaurant. The meeting is $10 per person and includes dinner. Passport regulations have changed. To travel by air, a person will need a passport before December 31, 2006; to travel by sea or land, by June 2009.
