Kiwanis Club spruces up two playgrounds
As part of "Hands on Georgia," a statewide initiative to increase volunteer involvement in public improvement, a total of 19 Washington Kiwanis Club members and four non-members spent many man-hours fixing up both the Booker and Liberty Street playgrounds during the past week. The volunteers repaired and replaced swings and jungle-gyms, painted and pressure washed benches and other fixtures, and spread three truckloads of mulch.
The club expressed its thanks to the City of Washington for its cooperation and coordination of the effort and especially to Mike Eskew, Thomas Dozier, and Robbie Carithers for their help with the mulch.
