Outlines tourism in W-W
Ashley Turner, Washington-Wilkes Tourism Director (right), spoke to the Washington Kiwanis Club at its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 10. She updated members on tourism activities and told them that tourism was the second largest industry in Georgia and third in the United States - Georgia ranks eighth nationwide. Turner said that the W-W Chamber of Commerce has polo-type t-shirts, both male and female, displaying the Washington-Wilkes "White Columns" icon available for sale. She also indicated that The Atlanta Journal Constitution will run an article on Washington-Wilkes in this Friday's edition. Chris Hughes (left) was program host for the day.
