Insurance questions may be answered by commission's office Wilkes County residents with insurance problems or questions can receive assistance directly from the office of Commissioner John Oxendine by contacting his insurance investigator working in this area. An investigator from the office is scheduled to be in Washington from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, at the Mary Willis Library conference room. Interested persons should call the library at 706-678-7736 to confirm the investigator's schedule. In addition to receiving assistance with insurance problems or questions, Commissioner Oxendine's office offers complimentary homeowner, automobile and life insurance policy reviews. This service is designed to provide citizens with information they should know before purchasing insurance and how to avoid common mistakes. A total of $120 million has been recovered by Commissioner Oxendine and his staff since 1995 on behalf of Georgia citizens who contacted his office. Persons who cannot meet with the investigator during the above hours need to know that they can receive assistance.
