Katy Meech's seventh grade reading students dressed up in their favorite 1960s fashions to celebrate the decade that produced the popular young adult novel,
The Outsiders, which was written by Susan E. Hinton.
The story addresses the age-old trials of the passage from youth to adulthood while battling peer pressure and society. While reading the novel, students also researched the differences of the sixties to that of today.
Each student created a collage of their topic of choice. Students who participated in the dress-up day are shown in the accompanying pictures in their sixties attire.
