Sunday was pastor appreciation day at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church. Our pastor, Rev. O'Neil Martin, was recognized and presented with a gift from the church by the chairman of deacons, James Braxton. Rev. Martin preached a good message from Genesis 13:1- 13, and Karmen Moon sang a beautiful special. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford, Mrs. Juanita Bradford, and her sister-inlaw, Mrs. Mary Lois Culbertson of Lincolnton, attended the funeral of E.S. Bradford in Evans Tuesday. Mr. Bradford was also the brother of Mrs. David Hopkins of Augusta. Mrs. Ricky McCarty joined a group of 50 women from this area who went on a bus trip to Atlanta for the day last Sunday. They enjoyed lunch at Einstein's, then attended the play, "Menopause," at the Fourteenth Street Theater. Pam said it was a funny play and they all had a real good time. Mrs. Juanita Bradford and Mrs. John Sutherland visited Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford in Thomson Wednesday. Friday was Dennis' birthday. Mrs. Iris Dyson and Mrs. Evelyn George attended a reception honoring Craig Wilkinson and Pamela Cadwell who were married recently, at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Cobbtown, Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Juanita Bradford, Mrs. John Sutherland, and Mrs. Terry Bradford enjoyed a visit to a large flea market in Augusta Saturday, then had lunch at Ryan's in Thomson. Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer attended the reunion at the old Courtground schoolhouse Sunday. After the covered dish lunch, fellowship and singing were enjoyed. In the absence of the teacher at Wilkes County Baptist Church Sunday, James Sherrer taught the Sunday School lesson. Charlie Branham attended the birthday party for Nicholas Scarborough in Rayle Sunday afternoon. After homecoming services at Danburg Baptist Church, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Huff visited Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer Sunday afternoon. Tad Hopkins visited his grandmother, Mrs. Iris Dyson, Sunday afternoon.
