RAYLE NEWS The Rayle Ramble will be held Saturday with exciting entertainment by Terri Gibbs and other local entertainers, children's activities, dune buggy rides, vendors, a country store, bingo, door prizes, and much more. Bring your lawn chairs and spend the day with your family and friends. John Mark Carpenter brought a rewarding and informative message to his congregation at Sardis Baptist Church Sunday morning. Family night was held Sunday evening with a fellowship meal and mission meetings. Bonnie Boatwright attended the Courtground school reunion Sunday and enjoyed seeing many friends there. The covered dish lunch was good and the fellowship great. The Courtground school choir, put together from the audience, delighted everyone with their singing with Inez Moore at the piano. It was enjoyed very much. Connie Gamble and Rachel Gamble of Augusta came Saturday afternoon for a visit with Bonnie Boatwright, Lamar and Kay Berry and Trey, and Johnny Boatwright. They were sorry they missed J.W. Our prayers are for Fred Corbett who was in McDuffie Regional Medical Center Thursday through Saturday. Barry Echols is here from Ball Ground to spend some time with him and Danny and Beverly Corbett are also there with him. Dana Echols came for the day Sunday. Fred and all the family appreciate all the thoughts and most especially your prayers. Fred Corbett's visitors have included Ruth Flynt, Shirley Bufford, Douglas and Elaine Mathews, Skip Padgett, Charles and Hilda Palmer, Charles and Nina Boatwright, and J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright. Congratulations to Richard and Lou Heard who are the proud parents of a baby boy born in Athens Regional Medical Center on Monday, October 2. He weighed 8 lbs., 10 oz., and has been named Hank Daniel. Hank's proud sister is Mattie. Spend-the-day guests Sunday of Buck and Linda Echols were Greg and Angela Armour, Samantha and Cody, Will Callaway, Scott and Sissy Smith, and Richard and Lou Heard, Mattie and Hank. Our prayer list includes Fred Corbett, Marshall Sherrer, Gary Rogers, Mike Webb, Stephanie Chapman, Dorothy Callaway, Sara Lynn Hyatt, Pete Poss, Kathryn Padgett, Ellie Frey, Jerry Wilson, Bobby Parton, Roberta Roper, Helen Cowart, Seba Williamson, Judy Paul, Charles Bradford, Thomas Wheatley, Thomas Bunch and George Wideman. Bonnie Boatwright joined J.W. and Kathleen Canup and Margaret Peterman of Lexington Tuesday afternoon to go to Elberton to play bingo at Wendy's. Mrs. Marian Poss, Mrs. Joyce Blackburn, and Mrs. Frances Ogletree enjoyed being together Thursday and having lunch at the Huddle House. Mrs. Joyce Blackburn accompanied Mrs. Marian Poss to her doctor in Augusta Monday of last week and on the way home stopped in at Ivery's in Thomson for lunch. Last week's visitors of Troy and Shirley Chafin have been Nell Turpin, Carol and Darien Thomason, Charlie Arnold, and John Boaz. Rocky Nation was honored on his 17th birthday with a supper and celebration at the home of Troy and Shirley Chafin Saturday of last week. Joining Rocky and his grandparents were Claude and Ann Nation, Sheila Arnold, Mandy Young and Walker, Alfredo and Terri Diaz, Antonio Diaz, Ronnie Chafin, and his friend, Roquelle, Willard and Diana Queen and Dallas. Guests of Troy and Shirley Chafin for dinner Saturday were Tommy Fong, Bobby Brown, and Doug Casey. Tommy spent the weekend with Shirley and Troy. Bobby and Debra Armour, Frances Fendley, Rebecca and Raeleigh Armour enjoyed going to the J&J Flea Market in Athens Saturday. Betty Berry accompanied Sybil Vaughn to her church, Burt's United
Methodist, Sunday and enjoyed it very much. Rhonda Owen and Ruby Arnold spent October 2-5 in Rossman, N.C., for the birth of Ruby's greatgrandchild, Grace Lynn, who was born on October 3 and weighed 7 lbs., 4 oz. Randall and Fallon Roberson are the proud parents. Kim Berry and Aaliya, Rhonda Owen, and Ruby Arnold spent the weekend in Rossman, N.C., to visit with the new baby and Randall and Fallon Roberson and the Owenses. Mrs. Sallie Mae Arnold celebrated her 78th birthday October 1. She is also feeling much better. Dorothy Callaway is still in Wills Memorial Hospital, but is feeling much better at this writing. Margie Randall, Mary Bowick, Angela and Jennifer went to Augusta and gallivanted all around and enjoyed eating at the Roadhouse Restaurant. Malcolm and Jean McDonald spent the weekend with Mrs. Annie Blanche Vaughn. Zachery Frankel of Crawford spent the weekend with Clyde and Sandy Whittington. Inez Moore, Daisy Parker, and Esther Dawson visited the Whittingtons Sunday afternoon. Ray and Lorene Hallford of Demorest visited Ralph and Elizabeth Smith one day during the week. Mark and Myer Jones of Alabama also visited. Charlie Arnold of Athens came and accompanied Elizabeth to the doctor Thursday, and Bobby visited Friday. Bonnie Boatwright and Mary Wideman attended the performance of "Steel Magnolias" at The Playhouse Sunday afternoon and enjoyed it very much.
