Grady Steed

Funeral services for Grady Steed, 87, were held Monday, October 9, 2006, at McLendon Memorial Funeral Home, Washington, with Rev. Charles Henderson officiating. Burial was in the New Hope CME Church Cemetery, Washington. He died October 5 in Rock Hill, S.C.

Mr. Steed was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Amos and Essia Steed. He was a retired auto repair man and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Steed of Tignall; two

sons, Boyce Steed Jr., Chester, S.C., and Grady Steed Jr. of Queens, N.Y.; a brother, Zetty Steed of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Brian Steed of Winter Park, Fla., and William Steed of Valley Stream, N.Y.; and six great-grandchildren, Marlene, Anngelice, Joselyn, Andre, Michael, and Brian Steed of Chester, S.C.; and a great-greatgrandchild, Cory Bennett Jr. of Chester, S.C.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
