Gresham-Saggus Women on Mission members meet on October 5 at FBC

The Rhetta Gresham-Terry Bennett Saggus Women on Mission of the First Baptist Church met in the Jesse Mercer Chapel Thursday afternoon, October 5.

Gladys Reese, facilitator, welcomed members and opened the meeting in prayer. She also led the WMU Watchword.

During the business meeting reports were given by Mabel Johnson, secretary, and June Chafin, treasurer. Several announcements were made.

Helen Miller presented the program on "Prayer Patterns" from "Mosaic" and was assisted by all the members. Missionary families were reviewed noting where they served and their types of service. These included situations from hurricanetorn areas to the North African continent, to low-income families in Kentucky, and to far away Australia where affirmation of Christianity is lukewarm.

Mrs. Reese read the missionary prayer calendar and Mrs. Johnson closed with a prayer for the missionaries and those with special needs in the community.

Present were Catherine Thurmond, June Chafin, Helen Miller, Gladys Reese and Mabel Johnson.
