Washington Presbyterian to hold fall services starting with covered dish supper this Sunday

The Washington Presbyterian Church will hold annual Fall Services Sunday through Tuesday, October 15-17.

Services will open on Sunday evening with a covered dish supper at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall followed by worship in the sanctuary at 7 p.m. On Monday and Tuesday nights, services will begin at 7 p.m.

The featured speaker for Fall Services will be Rev. Dr. Ford F. G'Segner who is currently the Congregational Development/Global Mission Outreach resource person for Northeast Georgia Presbytery.

Rev. G'Segner was born in Paterson, N.J., and raised in Marietta, Georgia. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from North Georgia College and a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. In 1972, he earned the Minister of Christian Education certification by the Presbyterian Church in the United States and in 1988, The Theological School, Drew University, Madison, N.J., granted him the degree of Doctor of Ministry for his work in leadership and ethics.

Ordained in 1970 by Concord Presbytery, Presbyterian Church in the United States, he served as assistant pastor and minister of education at the Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Valdese, N.C. G'Segner also served in the United States Army Reserve and the North Carolina Army National Guard. He entered active duty with the United States Army in January 1974 and served in pastoral, staff, and supervisory positions in the United States, Korea, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.

In 1995 he became the Stated Supply Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro, Georgia. He directed the Northeast Georgia Presbytery Mexico Work Mission from 1998 to 2004. In 2006, he served as the interim and founding pastor of the Greene County Presbyterian Parish. Then, in January

2006 he began work as the Congregational Development/Global Mission Outreach resource person for Northeast Georgia Presbytery

G'Segner and his wife, Susie DeLoach G'Segner, an elder in the PC (USA), live in the Rockville community of Putnam County, Georgia. They have two married daughters and two grandsons.

G'Segner's wide range of background and experience promise an interesting time together. Randall A. Hardy, pastor of Washington Presbyterian Church, invites everyone in the community to attend these special services.
