Little River Kidz Klub previews newest 'VeggieTales' DVD Sun.

Kidz Klub is sponsoring a special preview showing of the newest VeggieTales DVD, "Gideon, Tuba Warrior!" Prior to the DVD's release to the public, children in the Washington community are welcome to see this special preview of the adventures of Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber as they put their own unique spin on this amazing story from the Bible.

Recounting the heroics of Gideon from the book of Judges in the Old Testament, everyone's favorite talking vegetables perform the various roles in both song and dance.

"I was chosen as a Big Idea Ambassador about three years ago or so," recounts Reverend Craig Yoshihara of the Little River family of churches, "and as such, they allow us to sponsor these special preview screenings for churches and local children. It's a great opportunity for the kids to watch their favorite characters and to have lots of fun while learning important lessons from the Bible." Big Idea is the parent company of VeggieTales and has been producing various VeggieTales videos exclusively for the video market for over 13 years. More than 50 million DVDs and VHS tapes of the popular series have been sold.

Just this fall season, for the first time, VeggieTales is also seen on national television on NBC during their kid-friendly Qubo time slot. The company slogan for VeggieTales is "Sunday morning values, Saturday morning fun!"

The newest installment, "Gideon, Tuba Warrior," is due to release on DVD on November 7, but this Sunday, October 29, Kidz Klub will host a special preview screening at Smyrna United Methodist Church immediately following its 9:30 a.m. Sunday service. Special activity books, stickers, and a small bag of Halloween treats will be given away to the first 50 children who attend the screening. The show will start at approximately 11:00 a.m. Children who attend the 9:30 service will be seated first.

"We are so excited to be able to host this event," Rev. Yoshihara said. "All of our churches in the Little River charge - Smyrna UMC, Bethel UMC, and Mount Zion UMC - are committed to the growth and development of our community's children. We hope that lots of children take this opportunity to come and see this funny and entertaining show."

Asked if he had seen it already, Rev. Yoshihara commented, "Yes, I have. And watching the segment on Ukulele Bob was worth it all by itself, but the whole show is fun."

Sunday morning children's services are led by Rev. Yoshihara's wife, Cassie whose innovative style is fun for the children. Historic Smyrna UMC is located directly off Lincolnton Rd at 100 S. Smyrna Church Rd. Please contact Rev. Yoshihara for any additional details at 706-401-4291.
