Vox Pop
Last week the population of the United States grew to 300 million and it is estimated that it could double to 600 million by the end of the century. What do you think is the significance of those figures? How do you think the size of the population affects the country now and in the future?
"I think the population growth will have a negative affect on the country because I don't think there is enough land or enough jobs out there to support that many people in this country." DANIEL BRAXTON Fork-lift driver
"I think that it will affect the majority of the working class for the people who are unemployed and don't have benefits and that it will affect what you have to pay in taxes and other things." MICHELLE PORTERFIELD Washington Cellular
"It's not going to matter as long as they speak English." LEN CLIATT Salesman
"It will destroy it. The country's not ready for that much population." LAUREN BROOKS Restaurant manager
