God's influence in our daily lives
My wife had just taken him for a check-up and blood work on Thursday. All was fine. So Saturday we went to check on a van and were planning to go fishing, but God divinely altered our plans because He alone knows the future and He works in our lives unbeknowing to us until after the fact. He influences us for reasons we may not understand, but in His marvelous wisdom He knows why. We see only in part. We came by a yard sale and saw a lounge chair my wife's brother needed. She mentioned it and I started to say, "Let's just wait. I want to go on fishing." But God knew what lay ahead and He had other plans for our day. So we bought the lounge chair and went home and got my van to take it to him. When we got there we discovered him in critical condition. He was there alone and not even able or with mind enough to call. We prayed for him right then and there and carried him to the emergency room. Later, because of his critical condition he was rushed by Life Star helicopter to Augusta where he was placed in ICU. Had the good Lord not divinely influenced us and led us to that place and time according to his condition he would not have lasted through the night. God was giving him a second chance, maybe even his last chance, to accept Him as Lord and Savior of his life. His mother had prayed many prayers for his salvation and God honors those prayers. This whole episode was no coincidence. It defied coincidence. It was the hand of God. He intervenes in and influences our everyday lives even if we don't give him credit, but praise God, I give Him all credit and all glory.
He's a miracle working God! The greatest miracle can be the saving of our soul rather than the saving of our temporal body. Can you say amen?
