Essie Mae Crawford

Funeral services for Essie Mae Crawford, 94, of Metasville were held Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at the Mulberry Baptist Church, Metasville, with Rev. Robert Crawford and Rev. Gold Walton officiating. Interment was in the Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Thursday, October 19.

Mrs. Crawford was a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late Alex and Lillie Sutton Danner and the widow of Dave Crawford. She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Essie Cofer, Thelma Jenkins, Mary Ann Hawes, and Kathlean Jennings; four sons, Rev. Robert Crawford, John Henry Crawford, Thomas Crawford, and Uriah Gartrell; a sister, Annie Kate Cohen; 31 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
