John M. Barclay

Graveside services for John M. Barclay, 69, of Bartram Trace, Wilkes County, were held Monday, October 30, 2006, at Phillips Mill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Rayner officiating. He died Saturday, October 28, at his home.

Mr. Barclay was a native of Newton County and was the son of the late Clyde Barclay and Ruth Simpson Barclay. He was a television technician.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Barclay of Bartram Trace; a son,

Wendall Barclay, High Point, N.C.; three daughters, Charlesa Richards, Jacksonville, Fla., Janet Hobbs, Greensboro, N.C., and Tammy Shegal, Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Melvin Barclay, Monroe, J.C. Barclay, Decatur, Ralph Barclay, Eatonton, and Timothy Barclay, Fayetteville; two sisters, Mary Mosley, Decatur, and Jean Tillman, Athens; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
