Learning In Retirement (LIR), Washington Chapter, offers lectures on art in historical and religious expression by Allie Hardwick at 2 p.m., November 13, at the Parish House. The lec- tures cover, specifically, the tapestry of Bayeux as it depicts the Battle of Hastings by which England came to be ruled by France, and the Gothic cathedrals, especially at Chartres. Visitors are welcomed, refreshments will be served.

The Civil War Round Table of Washington will meet Monday, November 27, 6 p.m., in the Fitzpatrick Hotel Restaurant with dinner for $10 per person.
