Flu shots will be available at the Wilkes County Health Department on Gordon Street every Thursday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.

Clifford Grove Baptist Church's (Rayle) own Divine Inspiration will have its first CD release party November 11, 5 p.m., at the church.

A memorial service honor Lance Corporal Phil Scarborough, U.S. Marines, will be held in front of the Wilkes County Courthouse on Friday, November 10, at 10 a.m.

The New Sutton's Temple Baptist Church will celebrate the 19th anniversary of the pastor on Sunday, November 19, 12 noon. The speaker will be Minister Fred Weems.

Learning In Retirement (LIR), Washington Chapter, offers lectures on art in historical and religious expression by Allie Hardwick at 2 p.m., November 13, at the Parish House. The lec- tures cover, specifically, the tapestry of Bayeux as it depicts the Battle of Hastings by which England came to be ruled by France, and the Gothic cathedrals, especially at Chartres. Visitors are welcomed, refreshments will be served.

The Civil War Round Table of Washington will meet Monday, November 27, 6 p.m., in the Fitzpatrick Hotel Restaurant with dinner for $10 per person. Dr. Tim Drake, Professor at Clemson University and a direct descendant of John C. Calhoun, will speak on "The Real Causes of the Civil War." The Wilkes County FFA will have barbecued chicken plates for sale on Thursday, November 16. Pickup will be from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Cost is $6.00 per plate. Tickets are available from members.

The Old School Reunion will meet Saturday, November 11, 11:30 a.m., Third Shiloh Building.

Beulah Baptist Church will have revival services November 12-15, 7 p.m., with Rev. Tony Lee bringing the message each night and Rev. Tim Adams leading the music.

The Washington-Wilkes AARP Chapter will not meet in November and future meetings are cancelled until further notice.

Mount Nebo Baptist Church's annual Family and Friends Day program will be Sunday, November 12, 11 a.m. Rev. Charles Staley will be the guest speaker and the Gospel Originals will render the music.

The Senior Center Advisory Council will meet Tuesday, November 14, 10 a.m.
