Why would anyone do that?

TO THE EDITOR:

Sandra and I have been back in Washington for about two weeks now and I did miss family, friends, riding down country roads, and seeing cattle and beautiful farmland while we were gone.

Things are still the same around her, which is good. For instance, you can be going down the road and someone stops in the middle of the road to make a right hand turn into their driveway. You've just got to smile and say, "That's Washington!"

Or you can be sitting at a stop sign and a car is fast approaching from another direction when it breaks and turns right by you - no blinker. You just smile and say, "That's Washington!"

Maybe Ricky Lindsey can order some Fords without blinkers at a discount. It should save several hundred dollars on average. A lot of people don't use their blinkers.

Recently, on the opening day of deer season a lot of people were in town and that's good. People are busy getting to their deer camps, doing things before the "Big Day." On that particular Saturday morning I got up and drank some coffee, loaded up the trash, and headed down to the dumpster below my house. When I pulled up to it, I saw several deer carcasses lying three feet from the dumpster. But why would anyone do that?

It is amazing to me. They spend a lot of time, money, and effort to hunt deer. It seems to me before they pull the trigger they would know that they had to deal with the remains and that does not mean to throw them out around the dumpsters or around our beautiful county. They should be disposed of properly.

It's good to be back.
