Little Theater to usher in season with Christmas musical event

The Washington Little Theater will begin rehearsals for "A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols" on Thursday, November 9. The rehearsal will be held at The Playhouse on North Alexander Avenue at 7:30 p.m.

There will be two performances of the program. The first will be on Saturday, December 2, at 8 p.m.; and the second one on Sunday, December 3, at 2 p.m.

Anyone who sings in a church choir or just in the shower and is 16 years old or older is invited to attend the rehearsals and sing for the performance.

Rehearsals will be held on Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings at The Playhouse.

This musical event is based on the 90-year-old service that began at King's College in Cambridge, England. The festival in Washington- Wilkes will usher in the Christmas season with choral music, congregational carols, and beautiful readings.
